Retirement Planning

Early retirement… Trips abroad… Walks on the beach… Buying your dream camper van… Everyone is different - your retirement is unique to you!

Your adviser will guide you through our step-by-step process, leading to a well thought out and evolving Financial Plan with the specific aim of making your retirement everything you envisaged.

Client Retirement Journey

Mr & Mrs. Smith (George and Jennifer) both in their mid-50s started working with Ashlea a few years ago after realising that they needed help as they approached retirement and wanted more comfort that they could achieve their desired lifestyle after finishing work.

Our work for George and Jennifer initially focused around simplifying their investments, including consolidating their numerous pensions and investments under one roof.  During our meetings we were able to help facilitate discussions around how and when they might be able to retire, how much they might need to implement this and what their longer-term objectives were.  These discussions helped us to design an investment approach targeted to their unique and specific goals.

Over the years we have supported the Smith’s through many significant events including the investment (utilising tax efficient allowances), of an inheritance Jennifer received from a much-loved Aunt; to seeing both Jennifer and George successfully retire in their 50’s as they had planned, moving their work-place pensions alongside their other investments.  Once in retirement we arranged for their available pension tax-free cash to be paid, allowing them to purchase their dream camper van, and putting a regular withdrawal in place to fund their ongoing needs.

The Smith’s, continue to enjoy their retirement and are focused on their adventures in Bertha the Camper Van, leaving the Ashlea Team to continue to keep a watchful eye on their investments.  George and Jennifer keep in contact with their adviser and provide regular updates should anything need adjusting in their plan.  Their Annual Review Meeting sometimes takes place via Zoom as they are often traveling.  The Team, although a touch jealous, love getting the photos from various scenic stops in the UK and on the Continent.

Wealth Management

Inheritance? Divorce Settlement? Or maybe just savings you have built over time?

Choosing a suitable way to invest for your future can feel overwhelming, especially if you are dealing with it alone.

Our advisers have many years of experience helping clients explore how the money will be used, before putting a suitable investment plan in place.

Client Investment Journey

Mrs. Jones (Alice) has been a valued Ashlea client for over 10 years.  She first approached us after sadly and very unexpectedly losing her husband James at age 53.   As is common, James had managed all the family finances and after losing him so suddenly, Alice was not only coming to terms with her loss but feeling exceptionally overwhelmed about where to start in managing her finances.

Our initial journey with Alice was focused around helping her understand how best to manage the savings she had been left with. We spent the time helping her feel comfortable, listening to her concerns and guiding discussions on her objectives for the money she had been left with.  With the initial implementation and ongoing management of her wealth in safe hands, Alice had the time needed to adjust to her new way of life.

Alice receives a monthly amount from her investments to help top-up her income, as well as periodic updates from us on the markets and topical hints and articles. We reassess her plan annually at her Annual Review and knows her trusted adviser is always on the other end of the phone or email if she has any worries, leaving her to focus on her growing business and the wonderful trips she makes with friends.

Over the years we have seen Alice retire from her office job at age 55, and fulfil her dream of starting a pottery, creating her own work, and offering classes to others.  We have also helped guide her children through the beginning of their own investment journeys and take pride in helping them start on their own path to fulfilling their own career and retirement goals.

Alice regularly attends our Art Exhibitions and pop’s in for a coffee when in town and we look forward to hearing all about her growing business and her latest travel.
