Lansdowne Art Studios Launch/Macmillan
Join us to support our latest group of artists from Lansdown Art Studios. Based in the oldest art studio complex in Cheltenham but with the impending demolition threatening its existence, they are turning to crowdfunding to raise funds for the internal fit-out of new studios. Ashlea is super happy to support their fundraising by exhibiting work from a small selection of their artists. We will be displaying their work from September to December 2024, with a launch to showcase the work on Friday 27th September from 10am-12pm. The launch which coincides with our Macmillan Coffee Morning is a great opportunity to view some wonderful art and support Macmillan Cancer Support while eating lots of lovely cake!

Wild and Abstract
I love the fact that creativity is not just about producing the art; it’s about giving someone a connection, either visually or emotionally.
In 1992 I enrolled on an art foundation course in my home town of Cheltenham, progressing to ceramic design at Falmouth School of Art and Design in Cornwall and finally returning to Cheltenham to complete a visual arts degree in 1997. I spent the next 24 years helping young minds grow at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, but have returned back to painting, now a major part of my life.
Nature, being my main source of inspiration keeps me grounded and I am grateful to have connections with the Cotswolds, Cornwall and the Isle of Wight. These places provide me with endless sea views, floral source material from some stunning local gardens and inspiration for my abstract work.
My paintings based on water, floral or abstract are created using either, oils, acrylics or mixed media. I paint on various sizes of canvas, paper or board which helps me give each painting a fresh approach, and I provide work with a size and budget to suit everyone.
